Not much, how about you?

So a friend of mine called me a couple of days ago to tell me he'd quit his job at the Evil Empire we both used to work at. We chatted for about fifteen minutes, long enough for him to give me the details, mention he had seen Lady in the Water and POC2 and that he was driving through the Mojave with his brother in a '73 pickup. He also mentioned he'd be in the city on Tuesday and was hanging out/having a party at some friends, I should really come by.

All good. Me being me (and him being him) I completely forget all about it until he calls me up late last night all "where the hell are ya!?" Still all good, this happens all the time with us, we're both flakes.

*THEN* he mentions that I really should be there because he's moving to *Peru* on a maybe-permanent basis. Huh? Wow, ok, when? TODAY. His plane left early this morning.

It was an impulse decision and he didn't tell anyone else either until yesterday. But, dude, skip the Lady in the Water review and let me know you're moving down below the Equator.... jayzus! It's not completely atypical behaviour, mostly I'm dissapointed at not getting to say bye and jealous at his new adventure.

Moral of the story: "Hey, what's up?" is only a generic question when you aren't planning a major life change :)

Now I have to figure out when I can visit Peru.
